IIIT in Delhi

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi Bill 2007 was passed in April 2008. This would be a state university and initially, classes will be held in the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) campus. An independent building in the campus has been earmarked for the purpose. This year, the institute would admit 125 under graduate students, its first batch.
Any update on this.

I am currently studying in Inderprastha Institute of Information Technology and looking at the comments here of the people even before its inception just depict the negativity they are habituated to think.
IIIT-D presently has the better faculty than NSIT or DCE(talking about IT) and the best part is that in itself it is a State University.No wonder if it figures in the list of top colleges in a few years. :) :D
Nobody seems to be interested or concerned about this topic as I have not seen any meaningful response. Political leadership of this country should be sensitive to the statements they make in the press viz. that 125 students will be admitted from this year.
Moderator/Administrator: Can you please highlight my concen on this forum so that people drum-up the issue and bring to the attention of Govt. authorities.

Does anybody have an update whether it is going to start this year or not?If yes, whether admissions will be made thru IPU counselling.
Post message if you have any useful information.
I have sent mails to Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Delhi. But I am yet to get any reponse. IPU counselling starts today. IIIT does not figure in the list of Institutes. So I assume it was a political statement to admit 125 students from this year.

well IIIT delhi is supposed 2 be a deemed university which will specialize in reasearch and will function from campus of NSIT delhi one full building has been allocated at the undergrad level 125 seats for B.tech IT will be offered.....
Till now no admission notification is dere so i dont think the institute is ready rite now if dey bring out notification now the quality of students will be compromised....
But they may suddenly pop up in IPU 2 counsellin(eg last yr GB pant) or dey may take in students from DCE counsellin....

what u said is quite possible but i think it would take adm. through dce........
i think ip would be admiting the student as it is written that college would be under state governence
but may be they go for du (dce)

lucky students there classes would be held at nsit all facilities of there
we were also given th privlage to study at dce but the preposal was rejected as we were give given enough space for our campus and for time being we were given a building also
so we only had practicles there
and from which university,it will be affilated...and what are the courses goin to start in it.......i hav no idea abt it...
