Exercise to reduce stress during exams

Exams are here and everyone is hoping that these days get over. It is difficult for students to maintain their cool during these examination days. They get irritated and get angry to soon. It is mainly because they are highly stressed due to the studies that they have to do all day. In our earlier post we discussed how to maintain a good health during exams days now lets discuss some of the exercises that you can do in these days to reduce the exam stress

You can do any sort of exercise for 15-30 minutes everyday. You can spare that much time. Can't you? For instance you can play badminton, Table Tennis or any other sport that will move you body and make you sweat. Playing these games are not boring, it will make you feel better and also takes your mind off the studies for some time.

If you are a gym goer then don't stop it during your exams. Continue your work outs as you would normally do, just don't overdo those weight lifting exercises. Getting injured during the exams is the least thing that you want to do.

There are many little exercises that you can do in between the study breaks. It can be done anytime of the day.

1. Close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths. Exhale slowly. Try not to think of any other things. You can do it couple of time a day.

2. Stand up and walk for a while. Don't just keep sitting on the same chair everyday. Just roam around a little. This will make you blood circulated in the body.

3. Wrist Stretch: Extend arm in front, palm up and grab the fingers with other hand. Gently pull the fingers towards you to stretch the forearm, holding for 20-30 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

4. Hip Flexion: Sit tall with the abs in and lift the left foot off the floor a few inches, knee bent. Hold for 2 seconds, lower and repeat for 16 reps. Repeat on the other side.

5. Side Bends: Hold a water bottle with both hands and stretch it up over the head, arms straight. Gently bend towards the left as far as you can, contracting the abs. Come back to center and repeat to the right. Complete 10 reps (bending to the right and left is one rep).
